Beautifully presented and enjoying sensational views this lovely 2 double bedroomed detached bungalow is just a short stroll from the centre of Coniston, a slightly longer walk from the lake shore and a good hike from the fell tops, but all are on hand, there to be enjoyed by those with the enthusiasm and the energy.
Enjoying wonderful and well proportioned level gardens this delightful home is simply perfect for retirement, living and working from home, holiday letting or for enjoying peaceful weekends away from the bustle of modern life.
- Superb 2 bedroomed detached bungalow
- Magnificent mountain views
- Just a short stroll from the village centre
- Quiet cul de sac location
Location Entering Coniston from the direction of Ambleside on the A593, proceed down Yewdale Road and take the first turning on left into Collingwood Close. The property can be found just a short way along on the right hand side.
Description Sitting quietly in a peaceful cul de sac just a few minutes walk from the very centre of the village this lovely detached true bungalow might quite simply be someone’s passport to a wonderful retirement. It may not be today, it may not even be next year, but those planning ahead may make the wise decision to invest now in a property which would inevitably let extremely well until they are ready to take up permanent residence. All of the ingredients are here in abundance, ready for the fortunate new owner, whether they want to live here, enjoy the holiday letting experience or simply relax with wonderful weekend breaks in this beautiful part of the country. The bungalow offers the splendid potential for those lucky enough to be able to work from home to do just that in outstanding surroundings. The garden is plenty big enough to accommodate a home office if desired (and subject to consent) but be warned, we cannot guarantee that you will get much work done with that view to enjoy!
The surprisingly large and level south facing garden comes complete with apple, pear and cherry trees, but whose most spectacular feature is undoubtedly the magnificent views across to the Coniston Mountain range. These views can also be enjoyed from the bungalow itself, along with super views of attractive Yewdale to the front.
Entered via a side hallway, the accommodation includes a lovely bright bay fronted living room with superb views to both the front and side which combine wonderfully with a welcoming log burner for those cosy winter nights in. There is a tidy kitchen looking over the garden at the rear along with two double bedrooms, a modern bathroom and plenty of car parking provision on the driveway for two cars. There are also two very useful outside stores, perfect for bikes, kayaks, garden equipment etc.
Planning permission was obtained in 2012 to substantially extend the bungalow (ref 7/2012/5147), and although this has now lapsed, it may be considered a good possibility that similar permission could be obtained again if desired (although the property will be found to be plenty big enough for most as it is). The permission would have allowed for the creation of a third bedroom, a utility room, breakfast area and a further dining room.
Perfect whether you are seeking a lovely quiet home, a superbly placed holiday let or a simply perfect weekend retreat, early viewing is highly recommended.
