  • Stunning Lakeland scenery on view from every window.
  • 4 Bedroomed detached home.
  • 1.1 acres of established gardens
  • Superb location in the Langdale Valley

Location Occupying an outstandingly peaceful location on the northern outskirts of Chapel Stile in the beautiful Langdale Valley, Thrang Close is wonderfully placed. From the direction of Elterwater Common, proceed through Chapel Stile village itself and within a quarter of a mile of the village centre, on passing the stone built terrace known as Lingmoor View on your right, Thrang Close is found approximately 100 M further along on the left hand side. There is car parking provision both alongside and in front of the garage.

Description It would be easy to wheel out the tried and trusted cliché about "it all being about the location" but it is hard to escape the fact that Thrang Close really is quite superbly placed. Superb that is, if you have an appreciation of stunning Lakeland scenery. Look out of any window, on any side of this delightful home, and you cannot help but be astounded. The Langdale Pikes are perhaps the fells which are most instantly recognised, and indeed feature heavily from the primary rooms. Loft Crag, Harrison Stickle and Pike O’Stickle form the dramatic backdrop to the west, but the fell views on all points of the compass are worthy of a pause for admiration, Lingmoor Fell and Silver How amongst them.

Set in approximately 1.1 acres of beautifully tended and natural gardens, rich in colour at various points in the year and attracting a wonderful array of birdlife, the setting is almost dream-like in its quality. You can certainly lose yourself in the gardens – a real playground for the adventurously young at heart. You can, of course, also choose from an un-countable variety of walks from the doorstep for your enjoyment and relaxation – whether your inclination is to venture onto the high fells, amble alongside the beck or head to any one of the many nearby Inns, the options seem almost endless.

Thought to date from the 1920’s or 1930’s Thrang Close has more than a touch of the "Arts and Crafts" movement about it in places, and welcomes you with comfortably proportioned rooms throughout and has so much more to offer than a simply stunning setting.

Nevertheless, some still might like to consider extending this well balanced home, or even contemplate something more drastic, given the beauty of its location (subject to any necessary consents being obtained of course). There is certainly the space to do either, and the views and privacy to warrant the expense, but this tastefully presented home has something about it which is both wonderfully comforting and comfortable just as it is.

Thrang Close is currently a successful and popular holiday let with Wheelwrights, based in nearby Elterwater (www.wheelwrights.com) and offers bright accommodation which includes a porch, hallway with a cloaks room, a sitting room, a dining room, a sun or garden room, kitchen, utility room, side hallway/store, second wc and a double garage on the ground floor with four bedrooms and a modern bathroom with a separate wc above. There is not a window in the house which does not offer a stunning view, and a surprisingly high number of the rooms offer an amazing dual aspect.

The gardens include lawns, intriguing pathways, little tumbling becks, rhododendrons, natural woodland and beautiful flower borders. You could while away many a happy afternoon just ambling around in the sunshine here without feeling the need to venture further afield. Simply perfect in every way – come and see for yourself.
