Top Tip #6 – Upcycling, The Sky’s The Limit!

Upcycling is a fantastic trend that’s not only saving the planet by reducing waste but enables you to take on a project and create something totally unique!

With all this extra time at home, what better time than now!

What can you upcycle?

The sky’s the limit so be creative, but here’s a few of our ideas.

Pallets

Pallets are one of the top upcycling materials owing to their versatility!

Make garden furniture, storage units, shelving and more.

Pallet wood will need a little TLC but it’s nothing pilers, sandpaper and a bit of paint can’t handle!

Old Chairs

A lick of paint can do wonders and instantly freshen up your old wooden furniture, get artistic and design however you want!

Old rattan chairs can be modernised by wrapping thread around, a lengthy process but the finished results look amazing!

Cover old sofas, armchairs and cushions in new materials. You can buy ready sized elastcated covers or get online for fabrics of your choice and get the sewing machine out!

Lighting

Unusual Lighting is very popular at the moment and you can create them out of anything!

Take a look at the images below, on the first they’ve stripped the material off the shade and encased the stand in some old books – how great does that look! Or embrace nature with this quirky desk lamp!

Accessories

Utilise old jars or storage items from the kitchen to create an array of bespoke accessories

In the garden!

Plants will grow in anything… Try an old kettle, those mis-matched mugs, Walking Boots or anything you can think of!
